Brokenhearted.
Misunderstood.
Overwhelmed.
Ashamed.
Alone.
There are times in our lives when these words describe the heaviness in our hearts.
Whether it is the exhaustion of navigating difficult relationships, being consumed by painful memories, or carrying a burden inside that you are afraid to let go of, I believe that healing is ultimately found in genuine connection with God, yourself, and others.
I would be honored to walk alongside you in this process.
Katie Plukas, MA, LAC
I offer therapy to adults and teens, and bring experience in helping trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship issues, identity, shame, spiritual abuse, crisis of faith, and many other challenges.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University in 2015, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling from Phoenix Seminary in 2020. My work experience includes an internship at Arizona Christian University in 2019, where I provided therapy to students and staff. After obtaining my Associate License, I have worked in trauma-focused private practice, working primarily with women and college-age students.
When I am not working, I love to garden, read, and spend quality time with my friends & family. I have been married to my husband for 15 years, and together we have an energetic boy, an excitable Golden Retriever, and a few fluffy backyard chickens. We love being involved in our church and connecting with our community.
Prior to becoming a counselor, I served in the US Army as a Chaplain Assistant for 6 years, which included organizing and teaching youth groups, marriage & relationship seminars, and suicide intervention education. Additionally, I worked and participated in various settings, including Sunday Schools and faith-based organizations, troubled youth programs, grief & infertility support, and behavior therapy centers for children with autism.
